How To Apply Nail Polish

Everyone appreciates a person who is not only well dressed but groomed, as well. Cleaning, trimming and manicuring nails are all part of looking well groomed and put together. Last but not least, nails that are painted well complete the picture perfect.
So, how does one apply nail polish like a professional? Well, begin by removing all traces of old nail polish, and then soak your hands in warm, soapy water to clean nails. Rinse, dry, moisturise, trim, file, soften and push back cuticles and now you are ready for applying your nail polish.
Never apply coloured nail polish before putting on a clear base coat. A base coat is essential to prevent nail polish colours from staining your nails, but give you a smooth, even base on which to apply colour. Now you are ready for the next step and that is putting on the colour.
Apply it with sure, deft strokes from nail base to tip. The best way to apply nail polish is with three clean strokes, one down the middle and one down each side. When painting toenails, use toe separators to prevent smudging or place cotton wool between your toes.
What you must remember when applying nail polish is that you needn’t wait for the first coat to dry before putting on the second. The solvent of the second will make the first coat wet again, just as soon as it touches it. So, don’t cheat and apply one thick coat, two thin coats are far better and actually do dry quicker. Wait until completely dry and then seal nail polish colour by applying a clear topcoat.
You can have a lot of fund with nail polish; however, there are a few tricks that you should keep in mind when applying it. For a flawless application of nail polish, use a white nail pencil to whiten nail tips from beneath. Weekly hand massages increase blood circulation, which enhances nail growth.
For a funky, fashionable look, paint nails in a solid colour, dry and then with a toothpick use a different colour to draw a diagonal line across your nails. For clubbing or hot dates, try metallic glints, nail piercing, nail tattoos and embellishments. In case you have short nails, you can get a set of talons by using fake nails. For glittering, shimmering nails use a coat of clear gloss or sparkle on dried nail polish. Dark blue and black look terrific with silver glitter, whilst gold glitter goes well with red shades of colour.
Go paint your nails, now you know how!
