How To Apply Mascara

What every girl needs to finish off her make-up is mascara. Mascara not only highlights and dramatises the eyes, it also helps curl the eyelashes, which opens up the eyes and makes them look bigger than they are. However, before wearing mascara, you must decide the look you want to achieve i.e. natural looking lashes or the drama of coloured ones? Best bet would be to go in for long, lush and blackest black lashes for brighter, wider eyes. The following tips should help you get the best result in mascara application.
Separate eyelashes with the help of an eyelash comb or brush for a clump free look.
Next apply mascara to the lash base wiggling the wand through to the tips. Mascara placed near the roots not the tips gives an illusion of length.
Use a thinner brush as it allows you to get into the corners of the eyes, while shorter brushes allow more control over them.
Give a few extra coats to lash tips by blinking on the brush.
Powder the under eye to prevent mascara smudges attracted to oily concealer or eye creams.
Use an eyelash curler as curling lashes makes eyes look wider and brighter.
To cut down on clumps, apply mascara by zig-zagging the wand back and forth during application.
For a dramatic look, apply mascara to the upper lashes only, while eyes will look wider when applied to the lower lashes, as well.
It is a good idea to prime lashes with a mascara primer and separate them before applying mascara.
To avoid clumps, make sure the first coat of mascara is dry in case you want to go in for a second coat.
