How To Apply Lip Gloss

While, lipstick and lip liners colour define the lips, lip gloss gives a fresh, glistening look. For a sexy, youthful look wear lip gloss alone or apply it on top of lipstick for some gloss and shine. Popular as ever, you can choose from the wide range of lip gloss shades that are available, including colourless lip gloss. For women who prefer a full-lipped look or want a sensual pout, lip gloss can help them achieve both looks.
However, before applying lip gloss, you must prepare your lips by conditioning them by applying colourless lip balm or petroleum jelly to moisturize and smooth dry, cracked lips. The smoother your lips, the easier will it be for lip gloss to glide on easily and stay put without fading away.
The best way to apply lip gloss is to put a dab right in the middle of your bottom lip and then rub lips together. This ensures that you don’t apply a thick coat of lip gloss, which can get quite gooey.
Lip gloss over a neutral lipstick looks great. Again, dab just a bit in the centre of lips and using a brush spread it out. If, you have applied too much of it, smack your lips on some tissue paper to get rid of the excess.
Apply some concealer on lips before applying coloured lip gloss for clearer colour. When selecting coloured lip gloss for the daytime, stay true to your natural lip colour e.g. nude or light shades of pink, mauve or lavender. Customise colours by mixing several shades in the palm of your hand. For a sexy look, go for darker colours with some added glitter or shimmer.
To achieve a natural look, use a neutral lip liner, then fill in the lips with pink or peach lip gloss. Lips will be shiny and attractive without distracting from other features. For plump, pouty lips apply lip liner followed by lipstick, then use a brush to apply lip gloss in the centre of the lower lip. Smack the lips together for an even application. Dust the lips with a little powder to remove excess shimmer.
Match lip gloss colour to your skin tone. Go for golds and reds if you have light colouring, pinks and raspberries if you have dark skin and hair. And, when buying lip gloss, go in for reputed brands rather than cheaper makes for the best lip glossed lips in town!
