High heels may be harmful for womens health

There is nothing wrong to say that the world of fashion and style has reached to extent of exaggeration. And, the trend keeps you just look good regardless of concerns about you health. Do you ever think that the type of footwear you are using can also impair your health?
Women with high heel
Here the concern is about our women who continue to wear higher heels; these can cause a long-term damage to the health. This is proven by a recent study suggesting that up to a third of women have developed permanent problems due to a prolonged wearing of “killer heels.” These health problems include hammertoes, bunions, and even irreversible damage to leg tendons. These are mostly caused by the high amount of pressure on the ball of the foot due to the high heels; the pressure tends to increase as per the increase in the size of the heel. Moreover, the knees and back can also be the target points. A British survey has noticed that one out of ten women use high heels at least three days a week, and a third of the women were found hurt due to a fall.
As per Mike O’Neill, UK consultant podiatric surgeon, as reported by Courier Mail, the centre of gravity is upset by the high heels because they make you raise you feet. And, in such situation, you need to bend your lower back with a view of compensation for your balance; and this becomes a reason for changes of position of your spine with pressure mounting on nerves in the back. The related conditions include sciatica which is a painful condition with pain and numbness of the feet; and Achilles tendon can be developed as a permanent damage affecting back of the leg starting from the heel. The tendon is a flexible material; but women wearing high heels too often lose the flexibility to some degree, and tendons tend to be pointed upward in accordance with the upward position of the heels. He added that at the time of wearing flat shoes, a lot of pain occurs at the back of the heel. There are cases of 70-year-old people just moving on high heels only because they are no longer able to put their feet flat due to the pains. He also pointed out other common issue such as bunions, bony growths at the base of the big toe, lack of comfort while wearing shoes, etc.
