Everyone makes a striking picture of his/her prospective partner in mind. So, people have lots of expectations as well as dreams for their future spouse. Here, a question arises that what exactly men and women are looking for in their partner?
Earlier, in past good looks was one of the most common aspect that people looks in their spouse. Now-a-days, good earners are on priority among people. One of the studies by psychologists of Northwestern University especially on romantic attraction state that men are motivated by good-looks while women by the earning power.
Actually, it is commonly known that men and women are likely to choose a romantic partner but the truth is contradictory. It is revealed by many studies that men are keen to have physically attractive and romantic partner. On the other hand women look for good personality and a man with high income.
Yet, the truth is that they both want to have physically attractive partner with high ambitions and earning power. So, it is concluded from the above statements that both of the genders together with other factors like to have an attractive partner.
Prof. Eli Finkel at Northwestern University said that “The most important stimulus that can attract both women and men is good looks. However, a person with earning prospects and high ambitions is also likely by both the genders”.
He also states that romantic dynamics that are occurred at speed dating under their experimental study had little to accomplish with sex-differentiated preferences. The speed dating experimental methodology allowed Northwestern researchers in order to move beyond abstract world full of romantic ideas to view how people really rated numerous of blood-and-flesh people regarding ambitious, earning power and physical attractiveness.
Most of researches and studies reveal that men and women only talk that they want a partner with commitments and values. But the real fact is that they are likely to have a handsome/beautiful partner with great earning power. However, some of the people are really keen to look at some extra qualities in their future partner. They are those persons who give importance to the inner beauty and give less importance to money.
