The health benefits of drinking wine come from moderate wine consumption, defined by the American Heart Association as one to two four-ounce glasses a day. In recent years many studies have been undertaken to study the health benefits of drinking wine. All these studies points to one thing- In moderation, wine promotes Longevity, reduces the risk of heart-attack, stroke, cataracts, colon cancer, type 2 diabetes and brain decline.

Wine and Women: Moderate Wine Drinking Helps Preserve Women’s Mental Functioning. Women who drink moderately seems to have higher bone mass than abstainers. Alcohol appears to boost estrogen levels. Women Wine Drinkers Have Fewer Kidney Stones. Moderate Drinking May Cut Women’s Risk of Diabetes.
Moderation is the key: Wine in moderation might help you lose weight, reduce forgetfulness, boost your immunity, and help prevent bone loss. Those who drank roughly a glass of wine a day reduced by 11 percent their risk of infection by Helicobacter pylori bacteria, a major cause of gastritis, ulcers, and stomach cancers.
Wine and Mind: Wine could preserve your memory. People who drink wine occasionally may have a lower risk of developing dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease.
