Importance of hand care
Hand creams should be used every time you wash your hands. Frequent hand washing increases the dryness of the skin and it becomes essential to use a hand cream regularly.  The hands also need moisture as any other part of the body and thereby it is important to choose the correct hand cream which is suitable to one’s skin type. There are very few oil glands in the hands and hence they are more prone to dryness and peeling. If proper hand care is not taken, it can even result in dermatitis which can cause redness, peeling, cracking and wrinkling of the skin.

Usage : Hand Creams
Often people neglect hand care and don’t use hand creams/lotions regularly. This result in making the hand’s skin looks very loose and wrinkled. Some anti-ageing hand creams contain the Keratin proteins which is helpful in curing the skin’s wrinkling and also improving the moisture and elasticity. If your work is mostly in water then the hands should be protected with water-proof plastic gloves if possible. And in this case, one should use hand creams containing lactic acid and urea and every night after applying the cream, the whole arm should be covered with a plastic glove for about 15 minutes.

Proper care
You should take care while washing your hands. The usage of dry soaps should be avoided and the hands should not be over washed. The usage of harsh soaps results in hardening of the skin, giving it a rough feel. Hence, it is advisable that hand washes are used. The area around the nails and cuticles also tend to become hard after washing the hands with soaps. It is important that the nails are softened with a nourishing cream. You can soak your hands in slightly hot olive oil for few minutes for softening the skin texture and cuticles. Hand creams are very helpful in removing the dryness and brown spots.

People should always take proper care and keep a hand cream or lotion with them wherever they go.
