There are not many colors in the rainbow that you have probably not seen when it comes to hair colors. In the past few decades there have been hair colors emerging from bleach blonde to fire red and just about anything in between.
Why is it that so many people feel the need to color their hair? Well, according to many people they feel it is a matter of expression and individuality. A lot of people believe that the color of their hair makes them stand out and get noticed, rather than just blend in with the crowd. Others feel that it needs to be done as a matter of necessity to cover up gray hair, or roots of another color.
Whatever the reason for coloring your hair, you are bound to be presented with more options that you can even count. Aside from the basic shades of blonde, red, brown and black, there are many variations of each hue. There are warm, neutral and cool shades of each of the four main hair colors, and for each of those shades there are varying degrees of color saturation.
The techniques used to color the hair are almost as vast as the colors themselves. There are highlighting techniques, low lighting and many more. There is the popular two color technique that creates a darker shade on the bottom of the hair and a lighter shade on the top that when styled creates a dimensional look to the overall hairdo.
Whatever type of color you choose, you always have the option of going to a professional stylist or to your local drugstore to pick out a do it yourself box. The choices are limited only to your creativity and the look you want to present. From mild to wild and everything in between, the trends of the time are color and more color. There really are no limitations to the way you color your hair, and if you are looking for a wild and loud look, there are also hair painting products that you literally paint on to your strands of hair to create a very dramatic look.
