Growing Lavender Plants

Lavender plants make your garden more beautiful. Growing lavender plants is not very difficult and can be developed as a hobby. People normally choose lavender plants because of their gorgeous looks and the magical fragrance.
When you think about growing these plants right from the seeds, it can be a difficult task. But, there is no need for doing so, because they can be grown with the cuttings or with a purchase of readymade grown healthy plant from the nursery. For the purchased plant you need to take it out from the container and place it where you want with enough space for its roots to grow.
How to grow
The soil is a very important matter for any plant. For lavender plants you need to accommodate a very rich soil after drainage and proper care. A lean soil will help for higher concentration of oils in the soil, while an alkaline soil will help the plant to grow and enhance the fragrance too.
These plants can also be grown within the limited space of the container or pot in a case if you do not have adequate or sufficient place on the floor. When you opt for growing them in pots, remember to keep them under the direct assess of sun.
Because this plant possesses a strong root system, your pot should be of reasonable shape and size.
Lavender plants also require to be pruned routinely for keeping well shape. The pruning differs among different verities. The tall lavenders will require a cutting of one-third of the height. On the other hand, the smaller varieties will require a cutting of few inches.
The similar important thing is the mulch which works better when sand or even pea graves are used as the ingredients for its mixture. Sand helps in maintaining the temperature of the soil as well as reflecting heat and light onto the plant.
The right balance of sunlight and water will be a key factor for the prosperity of these plants. Adequate watering as least for the first year is necessary. Moreover, when growing more plants, keep them evenly spaced from each other.
