Getting rid of constipation

constipationThere are no quick fixes for constipation. It is important that one follows a careful diet and exercise regimen. 

Below are two important changes to your diet that will enable you to pass normal stool comfortably. Passing stool should be followed by a sense of relief and not be a cause of anxiety.

Water, the healthiest natural drink.

First and foremost, increased your water consumption. Dehydration leads to constipation, so it is important that you keep your body well hydrated. If you are chronically constipated, it may be the case that you are not drinking enough water.

The average adult needs to drink six to eight glasses of water each day to maintain proper hydration.  The amount of water one should drink varies from person to person, depending on the kind of physical activities they participate on, the profession one engages in, and the local climate conditions.

Diet and exercise go hand in hand.

Next, you have to make adjustments to your diet and include more fiber in you meals. Fiber is essential for good digestion and clearing out the stomach.

Eating seasonal fruits and vegetables is a good way to increase your intake of fiber.  Also eat whole grains and flax seeds.

A simple and convenient way to include more fiber in your overall diet is to take a spoonful of phylum husk daily. The powder may be mixed with water to form a porridge-like dish.

To fully reap the benefits of a good diet you must incorporate light exercises that you enjoy in your everyday life.  These exercises may be anything from brisk walks, jogs, cycling or swimming.

If your problem persists over a few days and becomes chronic, you may have to resort to taking a laxative. Try taking a spoonful of milk of magnesia before retiring for the night.

Other laxatives are also available without a prescription, but it may be helpful to consult with a physician. It is not healthy to regularly take laxatives or become dependent on them.

Keep trying the different methods mentioned above. Gradually, your system will get used to the healthier diet and readjust.
