Yoga was practiced as an everyday activity by our forefathers who found tremendous benefits in its practice.  On account of its elegant and simple to learn techniques and the resultant benefits, it has once again regained popularity and is now practiced throughout the world. Yoga has also evolved from a spiritual medium through asanas to a way of life.

More and people who lead busy and fast lives turn to yoga to achieve mental and physical balance in their lives. The practice of yoga does not require any special place or time and can be done at any time convenient to anybody.  The only thing that is to be kept in mind is that generally, most asanas are to be done on a light stomach.

That is the reason why many people prefer to perform yoga in the early mornings, combining it with the soothing effects of the morning sunrise.  Not only does yoga give inner peace, it also frees the mind of all clutter and works to combine the mind and body as a single functioning unit.

Many of the so called lifestyles diseases that are springing across the world like stress and pressure can be effectively combated by the simple practice of yoga. People who regularly practice yoga go through life with little or no physical ailments.

They also feel refreshed and recharged and are ready to take on the many challenges that this world has to offer.  Yoga is such a powerful exercise that one can truly feel one with the universe. One’s outlook on life also changes in a positive manner and yoga leads the way to ultimate spiritual enlightenment through realization of the self.

There are no preconditions for doing yoga.  Anybody, at any stage in their life can start doing yoga. There are also no religious connotations attached to yoga.  People of all religion can practice yoga.

The ultimate goal of yoga is to focus the mind through the body which leads to a more balanced approach in life, which will in turn lead to happiness and fulfillment.
