Wines are great. It is believed that the cost of a wine determines its quality. That is simply to say the more expensive the wine the higher its quality. So if you are looking for that wine to impress that lady you can read on for a list expensive wines.
Dom. Romane Conti 1997 – $1,540
This is a French red Burgundy. It has the smell of spices, berries and leather. It indicates flavours like soy sauce, liquorice and flowers. It is dark in colour and has a rich aroma which penetrates well even though it is not profound. The price of this wine indicates that it has carved a niche for itself. No other wine comes close to it despite the fact that others may have better vintage.
Petrus Pomerol 1998 – $1,459
During the days of Kennedy at the white house, the Petrus Pomerol was one of the most favourite wines there. Although the label refers to it simply as Petrus, its official name is Chteau Petrus. Grapes used for this wine are harvested early and left to slowly mature. It is extremely fruity with flavours like vanilla, berries, mocha and oak. It has a finish that caresses the palate.
Chteau Le Pin Pomerol 1999 – $908
This belongs to the Thienpont family venture. It is one of the best garage wines. About 6,000 bottles of this Pomerol are produced yearly on a five acre piece of land. It belongs to one of the illustrious wines that come out of Bordeaux. A favourite of wine collectors, its fullness is believed to come from the downy levels of black cherry, mocha and current flavours.
Chteau Latour Pauillac 1990 – $774
This is a very reliable wine that draws its power from the soil in which the grapes are cultivated. It is one of the raciest wines of the Mdoc region. In 1993, it was selected as the single best wine by Wine Spectator. This has bestowed on it a perfect score. It has flavours of caramel, liquorice, chocolate, dark cherry and roasted fruits. It comes from one of the most reliable French vineyards.
It should be clear that the wine market has its own intricacies and the price will depend on where you get involved. The prices quoted are approximations.
