Coffee originated in Africa and slowly spread out to other parts of the earth like Europe and Asia. It is now cultivated in regions like America, Indonesia etc. The taste of coffee is determined by the area where it is grown but there are other factors like roasting, blending, or preparation that influence its taste.
The coffee commonly available in stores can be categorized as specialty coffee or commercial coffee. Commercial coffee is available in the powdered form and is blended and packed in cans or vacuum-sealed packs.
It is ready to use and is for people who do not want to spend too much time on their coffee. Specialty coffee is for those who love their coffee and spend time preparing it.
It is in the form of beans and you can use it as you wish. You can add other types of coffee beans with it, roast it as much or as little as you like. The choices for specialty coffee are more as compared to commercial coffee.
Coffee grown on small farms is sought after by coffee lovers for its exclusive taste. This is because more care is taken while growing the coffee and focus is on the quality.
This is in the league of special wine or cheese and is expensive. Kopi Luwak is said to be the most expensive and the best coffee in the world and is grown in Indonesia.
The next in the list is Hacienda La Esmeralda’s Geisha, which is grown under the shades of guava trees in the Panama region. The third in the list of expensive and rare coffees is Island of St Helena coffee.
Coffee drinkers can be broadly classified into two. One group prefers additions like whipped cream, syrups, honey, and claim it adds to the flavor of coffee while the other set says it spoils the entire flavor of the coffee.
There are numerous coffees available with espresso being the most popular. It is very strong coffee and is available in small quantities. American mocha, Caribbienone, Irish coffee, Italian café latte are some of the other flavors.
You may have coffee to give you energy, to wake you up, to relieve your stress, whatever may be the reason for your drinking coffee make sure you enjoy your coffee.
