Fear of dating

No one will forget the line from the movie, “When Harry Met Sally,” where Marie says to Jess, “Please tell me I’ll never have to be out there again!”
By all probabilities you’re reading this and want to get back into dating someone.
These days the number of relations that break up is increasing. So people are scared to meet someone new and date as they don’t want to get hurt. Though everyone has this fear, it shouldn’t stop you from finding that special someone and spend your life with him or her.
Some people don’t have problems in dating someone new, whereas most of them are not able to get out of their previous relation. The unsolved hurts and trauma makes them feel it is better to spend their life alone. Even after a 10 year relationship people become single again.
The excuses that single men and women give for not dating are, “I will in no way love again; my ex is the only one for me, I don’t know this dating, I am too old and not attractive, I have children, I have no time as my job is challenging, I cannot trust anyone. I am incapable of loving”
The above are just a few instances. What I personally feel and have learnt is that life is not enjoyable alone. At some point you need to get over the previous relationship.
Dating should be a great experience and not scary. Everyone has bad experiences but that shouldn’t rule your life. This is the key for successful dating. Incase you’re not able to overcome the fear it’s better to go for counseling. You can also read some books or visit some sites for self help.
Once you have overcome your fear, decide where to begin.
Go to some recommended singles websites, get to know new people and move ahead slowly. Lots of people find their partner this way. As how you find people in a bar or some store, you can find someone new on the net also.
There are loads of single men and women, looking for friendship, dating, romance, and love on the net. So all you need to do is let go of your fears, meet new people, date, and enjoy. Sooner or later, you’ll find the one for you.
