Hirsutism is a problem caused by elevated levels of male hormones and excess facial hair on the face can prove to be a source of great embarrassment for women. 4. Vaniqa® (Eflornithine 13.9% Cream)
This treatment is about using a prescription cream to block the enzyme that makes hair grow. Used in conjunction with other treatments i.e. lasers, it enhances the effectiveness of both treatments, with a minimal of adverse effects.
5. Anti-androgens and Oral Contraceptives
The above prescription medications inhibit androgen (male hormone) production, however, it is months before one can see the benefit of taking them. As well, there are a number of risks involved when one takes these medications.
