So, during pregnancy every woman includes some eating rules as per her doctor’s and friend’s suggestions. However, you can also go with your choice of healthy food. So, eat your way to a healthy pregnancy and give better start to your baby. Here are some good tips for your eating while pregnancy.
Forget to eat for two:
It is a myth that you have to eat extra for your baby. However, it is quite important to gain adequate weight just for piling but quick increment in your weight can increase risk of high blood-pressure and pregnancy diabetes.
Most of the women require approx 2000-2500 calories daily. In addition, they require only approx 200-300 additional calories in a day especially in final month. As you know that quality is more important then quantity, thus eat healthy food. For example prefer rice, brown bread and pasta instead of white, these food materials would provide you more energy in long run.
Include folic acid more in your food:
Folic acid reduces risk of neural-tube defects like spina bifida. Thus, take 400mcg supplement daily, until end of 12 weeks of your pregnancy. You should also include some folic rich food materials in your daily diet like cabbage, spinach, brown bread, broccoli, cereals, bananas and fortified protein.
Prioritize protein:
Proteins are helpful to build new cells for your baby and you, thus you are required to eat food that is rich in proteins like pulses, egg and chicken. You can also include oily fishes (sardines, salmon and trout) because they are extremely rich in proteins. In addition, they contain vitamin D and omega-3-fatty-acids that are really good for baby’s bones and nervous system.
Drink milk:
Three portion of food that is rich in calcium, helps to develop your baby’s teeth and bones healthily. Best providers of calcium are dairy products like milk, cheese and yogurt, so include them in your daily meal.
