Difference between acne and acne cyst

We all suffer from one or other type of skin infections. There are various types of skin infections that trouble almost every one of us. One common skin infection is skin cyst. Skin cyst is also known by name of acne cyst. This infection can be seen more in youngsters.
Acne is a common skin infection. It is caused because of the accumulation of natural body oil in the skin pores. When the excess oil secretion from the sebaceous gland does not succeed in going out through the skin pores, it gathers up in the pores. Due to this, the skin pores become clogged resulting in acne. This is not the only factor of acne formation. According to a survey, it has been noticed that there are other factors available as well which are responsible for acne formation. Various hormonal imbalances in the body and different strain related factors also results in formation of acne.
If not paid proper attention, simple acne can also take a severe form. In simpler forms, they can cause swellings on the skin but sometimes they burst and spread over a large area. If this happens, then the infected area swells up too much. This form of acne is then called as nodulocystic acne or acne cyst. They generally occur in males, on the chest or back region and are very painful.
There are various symptoms of acne cyst which can help you to distinguish it from the common acne on the skin. Here are some of them:-
Scars can be seen around the area of cyst. Swelling of the infected area and bursting of pus is the other common feature of acne cyst. As stated earlier, that acne cysts are very painful, still a more severe form of acne is there, named as acne conglobata. This form is extremely painful and severe boils are formed on the infected area, followed by scars as well. These generally occur in a group of ‘macrocomedones’ and also form cyst containing infectious pus.
Due to advancement in technology, various forms of treatments can be done to cure the person from acne cysts. Skin cyst can easily be cured using laser acne treatment. Isotretinoin has proved itself as the most effective substance in curing acne cysts. It is a substance which is derived from vitamin A. It is advised to use this substance as soon as acne cyst is diagnosed to get the best desired results. It is better to treat acne cyst after consulting a doctor, as his advice can give you better results.
