Eating healthy is very import for women during their pregnancy. The diet taken during pregnancy should be monitored and taken healthy which will have impact on the health of the mother and the baby. When the baby grows, 300 more calories should be taken by the mother in a day. The food has to be healthy and nutritious which will help in the growth and the development of the baby. This article will provide some tips for a healthy diet to be following during pregnancy.
Your body will use the energy supplied by the food effectively for your health as well as the baby’s development. So you will need to eat foods which are rich in nutrients and are well balanced. The meal should be balanced with appropriate amount of protein, carbohydrates, fibres and other minerals. Another important point is the timing when you take the food. You will need to have the food only when you are really hungry and need food for energy. Improper timings of food and over eating may cause digestion problem at the earlier stage of pregnancy.
Until the middle stage of pregnancy, the appetite might be low because of nausea or other sickness. At the end of pregnancy, the appetite might increase, but you will need to avoid overeating at this stage to avoid heartburn or other health problems.
Fish is the natural source of protein, vitamin D and omega 3 fatty acids. So you can take proper amount of fish, which will help in the development of the baby. Iron supplements can be taken which should be prescribed by the doctors.
At the time of pregnancy, try to avoid caffeine as much as possible. Caffeine may cause low birth weight and cause risk of miscarriage. Also avoid spicy foods with more onions and garlic which may cause heartburn. Raw sea foods and poultry dishes, cheese and liver products should also be avoided during pregnancy.
Health of the mother and the growth of the baby depend on the type of the diet followed by the mother. To give safe birth to a well developed baby, the pregnant women are always advised to follow healthy diet during pregnancy.
