Detoxify For Health

A popular health kick, detoxing is useful as an internal spring clean that keeps you in the prime of health, helping you slim down and effectively boosting energy levels for perking up a tired skin and exhausted minds.  End result, you enjoy life to the fullest.

It is important that you base your detox regime on a short-term diet plan that does not starve the body of essential nutrients.  The emphasis should be on foods that are known for their cleansing properties i.e. largely plant, grain and vegetable-based.  Plenty of filtered water, fruit and vegetable juices also play a major part in any detox cleansing routine.  Go for organic foods, avoiding foods that include animal produce, contain additives, preservatives and colorants and pesticides.

While, you can detox with a healthy variety of wholesome foods and fluids, there are certain supplements, such as, various naturally cleansing and detoxifying products that also effectively help boost detoxing efforts.

Some latest brands targeting detoxers contain vitamins and herbs in the form of multivitamin tablets specially designed to complement internal cleansing routines.  There are whole food concentrates in addition to a comprehensive mix of vitamins, minerals and amino acids that contain green foods, such as, organic grasses and sea algae containing chlorophyll, a natural pigment found in green, leafy vegetables.  A powerful detoxifier, chlorophyll has been proven to help the body eliminate toxins.

The natural fibres like brown rice bran, oat bran and apple pectin also complement a cleansing programme by sustaining good digestion and helping eliminate intestinal toxins.

There is another product called Spirulina, a microscopic blue-green algae that apart from being highly nutritious, cleanses, as well.  It helps detoxify by cleansing the digestive tract, keeps energy levels high and feeds the body with all its essential nutrients in a natural form that doesn’t overload the system.

One of nature’s richest sources of complete protein, Spirulina comes highly recommended by nutritionists for its absorbability.  Containing the entire anti-oxidant spectrum, it is the only whole food that is known to be a source of phycocyanin, a powerful immune stimulant.  Low in sodium and cholesterol, spirulina contains 18 of the known 22 amino acids, including all eight essential amino acids.  It also contains vitamin E, vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5 and B6, plus 14 minerals including iron, selenium, copper, manganese and zinc.  All these vitamins and minerals bonded to the amino acids help the body assimilate them easily.

Take at least one teaspoon of spirulina needs every day or six tablets.  If, you are taking it in powder form, it can be added to fruit juices or smoothies to make it taste better.

Detoxification should be a monthly routine for everyone, if they want to perk up and improve their mental and physical health!
