Cosmetic Surgery Alternatives
August 7, 2008
For those men and women, who look in the mirror, only to wish they could turn back the clock, there are many other alternatives to expensive cosmetic surgery and over-the-counter beauty products. There is a range of non-invasive cosmetic surgery, easier on the pocket and far less painful.
To begin with, there is botox and cosmetic dermal fillers, which are widely available and have achieved great popularity amongst many seeking the fountain of youth and beauty. However, a word of caution before taking the plunge, remember non-invasive cosmetic treatments still need careful consideration and must always be carried out by trained professionals.
For those who have considered the matter carefully and even talked it over with their family doctor, the following non-invasive treatments target the facial area:
Restylane is an injectable gel designed to enhance the skin’s stocks of hyaluronic acid, directly adding volume to either soften the signs of ageing or enhance the features. For best results, have it administered by trained, medically qualified practitioners only.
This procedure normally takes less than 30-minutes, but the benefits are seen immediately. Though, Restylane is long lasting, the results are not permanent. Restylane’s hyaluronic acid gel closely mimics natural hyaluronic acid, thereby helping reduce the risk of an inflammatory reaction or other side effects.
The most popular treatment of all is Restylane Lipp used to fill out wrinkles and folds or to sculpt lips. A naturally degradable product, estimates show it to last 6 to 12-months before new treatment is necessary. As well, it is formulated to work in harmony with the natural anatomy of the lip.
Other non-invasive treatments for skincare, anti-ageing and hair removal include non-chemical facial peels, mesotherapy without needles and skin tightening treatments. As well, anti-wrinkle light refinement is one latest treatment that uses formulated ampoules, infra-red and blue light and bio-resonance waves to relax, stimulate skin and encourage cell regeneration. The treatment is expensive and produces long-term improvements to wrinkles and fine lines, without any side-effects associated with older-style lasers, such as scarring, reddening and sunlight sensitivity.
Tear Trough Rejuvenation uses hyaluronic acid products to help reduce the appearance of bags and dark circles from under the eyes. Loss of volume in the lower eyelid and cheek area leads to the pronounced appearance of natural fat pockets and accentuation of tear trough shadows. The treatment reduces dark circles by creating a smooth lower eyelid contour and reducing shadowing and lasts anywhere between 6 and 12-months.
There is also a new anti-ageing facial treatment called Portrait Plasma Skin Regeneration that lasts 20 – 30 minutes. A non-surgical procedure, it improves skin laxity, texture, pore size, acne scars and surface pigmentation, as well as, reducing the depth of wrinkles by simply removing superficial tissue.
