Correct Way of Exercising

exercisingEnsuring that you use the correct exercise form is really important. You must ensure that you are doing the movements involved in the exercises correctly.

This is hard to learn by reading a book, magazine or reading online. Being taught these in person by someone like a personal trainer makes it both easier to learn and ensures that you are doing these correctly. And as the old saying goes “Practise makes perfect”.

Two important reasons why you need to do the exercises correctly.

Even the smallest change in your hand grip, posture or body angle can work a different muscle or muscle group that you intended to. It means that you can also put undue pressure on weaker points in your body that may not be able to stand the pressures that you are putting on them.

A common mistake is one that is made in bench pressing. The right way to bench press is to make sure that you use your wrists when they are straight and steady.

If you start to bench press by pushing the weights up with your wrists then the amount of pressure that you are putting on your wrists increases dramatically.

What you can do to help to prevent injuries.

There are plenty of exercises that are being done wrong and people think that is the correct technique. The main exercises that people do wrong are the shoulder press, when the weights are lifted in front of the body instead of above the head.

There is the squat where when you bend down your knees should be over your toes, however, if this is not done it can cause damage and injury to your knees.

If you are doing crunches to flatten and help tone your abdominal muscles, you may end up not training those muscles at all if you do it wrong. Make sure that you follow the instruction that you are given carefully, otherwise you’ll never get the six-pack you want.
