Coping with dry or oily skin
There is a popular belief that there are five types of skin. It is partially true, but if you go for the most common ones, then there are mainly two types of skin — oily and dry.
Both these type of skin have their own set of advantages and disadvantages. Those who have dry skin do not have the problem of having greasy skin, but dry skin is more prone to wrinkle.
Oily skin on the other hand is not so prone to wrinkles, but the excess oil is always visible on the skin. That certainly is a nuisance.
Every problem has a solution. All you have to do is take extra care of your skin and your skin will be healthy and problem free.
Those of you, who have oily skin, please avoid eating oily food. Make it a habit of washing your face frequently, so that the excess oil is removed. Be careful while buying cosmetics. Do not go for something oil based; go for the ones that are water based.
If you are having problems with acne, apply honey on your face. Keep it on for five minutes and then wash it off. Honey cleans the blocked pores.
Those who have dry skin are free of acne, so that is something you do not need to worry about. But dry skin needs special care as well. The best way to pamper your skin is to use a good moisturizer.
That will keep the skin well hydrated. Avoid taking hot showers as the hot water washes off the moisture of the skin, leaving it too dry. Drink lot of water, which restores the water balance in the skin.
Those with dry skin are free to use cosmetics that are oil based. In fact, they are actually beneficial for the skin. Use a mild face wash or just water to wash the skin.
Using something too harsh will make the condition worse. Before washing the skin, apply some yoghurt on it. Another good solution is oatmeal. Apply oatmeal (cooked) on the skin. This helps to repair the skin damage caused by dryness.
