Ageing is an inevitable and normal process. All of us age. But if you are young at heart, your youthful spirit will help you to live longer. Having right attitude towards life allows you to stay younger for a longer period.

So if you want to live a long and productive life, you must find out a reason to remain happy. Even making others smile can make you live a fulfilling life, in spite of having certain drawbacks. It is just a matter of perception. If you feel life boring, full of problems, you will feel miserable.
The correct approach is not indulging in self-pity. Realize that getting older has its own advantage too. May be your hair is graying and you need bifocals to read newspaper, but you have grand children to share your experience and play with them. Your children still love you, as they used to love when they were kids.
You have gained maturity and experience to view things rationally. During this period of life you may have experienced loss, pain or failure also. But you need to cultivate an attitude, that these things are part of life and this is not the end of the road. You have gained many things in your life also. This kind of optimistic approach will make your old age a blessing.
Stay Fit
Of course, you need to take extra care of your health at this age. To maintain a good health, exercise regularly, eat a healthy balanced diet. Take care of body’s changing need for nutrition. Your diet should comprise of foods that contain lot of calcium, protein, iron and fiber.
For staying well you need to prevent illness and adopt a lifestyle that promotes wellbeing. At this age for preventing serious illness regular health checkup is absolutely necessary. Early detection of any illness makes treatment easy and successful. Routine diagnosis for diabetes, hypertension, cancer and heart disease should be done if even minor symptoms are noticed.
Preventive checkup also includes eye and dental care. Always consult your doctor, if you feel unwell. Certain ailment like muscular degeneration can be avoided by taking vitamins and mineral supplements. Stay physically mobile to keep muscles flexible. Walking and jogging is best option. Also take proper rest. To remain in good health a good night sleep is necessary.
