Selecting the best shampoo for your hair is essential in order to maintain and achieve healthy and beautiful hair. Its crucial to use a shampoo that is appropriate for your hair type, otherwise it won’t be effective enough. For example if your hair is oily you should never use shampoo or conditioner designed for dry hair, because it won’t remove the excess oil from your scalp and it may cause other hair problems such as dandruff, frizzy hair or even split ends. There are many different varieties of shampoos available at different places including websites.

Shampoos are designed to remove dirt and oil from the hair as well as to nourish the hair in deep. There is a variety of shampoos designed for the different hair types and for different purposes – there are clarifying shampoos, nourishing shampoos, shampoos specially designed for color treated hair or premed hair. Many shampoos contain protein, vitamin, mineral, essential oil and other natural ingredients that nourish, condition and repair damaged hair. Obviously there is abundant confusion around. However there are simple ways of choosing the right kind of shampoo for your hair but ultimately, it depends upon you to choose right shampoo.

Few tips might help you choosing right shampoo. For instance, if you have oily hair, go for a shampoo that does not have strong detergent base. Use mild shampoos depending on how oily your hair gets. Regular usage of a simple shampoo cleans your hair of dirt caused by sebum and if you get normal hair, go for a shampoo that may get you protection from itching and other scalp issues.

A shampoo having mild detergents combined with shampoo that may keep the moist in your hair gives great results for normal hair. In case, you have dry hair, select a shampoo that doesn’t have detergents. Low levels of moisture result in dry hair. Therefore any shampoo that may keep the moisture level of the hair as it is, without reacting with it, is fine for dry hair.

One should not believe that you have to use one manufacturers entire hair product line. It’s the same for skin care products. All shampoos clean the hair. All soaps clean the face. All conditioners leave a trace of product on your hair that helps keep the cuticle smooth. All moisturizes soften and moisturize the skin. It doesn’t matter if you mix and match products, despite what they say.

In case you have dandruff, you should choose an antidandruff shampoo and antidandruff conditioner or serum. These shampoos cleanse the scalp very well and keep the dandruff flakes out of sight for a few days. Other antidandruff shampoo contains special ingredients (like ketoconazole) that act directly to inhibit the growth of the fungus (dandruff bacteria) and normalize the pH level of the scalp. You should be very careful when selecting antidandruff products, as some of them may be too harsh for your scalp and hair causing itching, dryness and scalp irritation.
