Childish Pranks-When Fun Is No Longer Fun
July 16, 2008
I am sure as kids we have done some crazy and childish pranks and doing them were fun and we and those who were involved in the pranks and we all had a good laugh, but there were probably times when some of the pranks being done were not so fun and could have been dangerous for both us and the intended target. So when has the point of childish fun gone too far and become a matter for concern for the parents?
Parents should worry when they see their kids doing harmful and potential deadly pranks and should do everything in their power to prevent those from happening (if they really cared about their children and do not want to see them get hurt.) It is normal for young children and young adults do commit pranks and sometimes they are fun and sometimes they are not, as long as nobody gets hurt but there are cases in which people are hurt by some of these pranks and when that happens who is really to blame for the prank happening?
Some people believe the parents should share responsibility for someone getting hurt by the prankish actions of their children and should punish their child and help pay the expenses for medical care (if any needed) of the person or persons injured during the prank.
Some of the pranks that go wrong, involved the use of explosives and/or firearms, like fireworks and BB guns and even real pistols or rifles, which are obviously deadly and can cause the death of the intended target or targets. Every year and all over the world, thousands of children are either injured or die as a result of dangerous and childish pranks and the pranks affect both the parents of the prankster(s) and the parents of the victim(s).
What should a parent do if they see their child attempting to commit or have committed a potentially deadly prank? Some also believe that parents of pranksters need to strongly discipline their children by taking any and all measures necessary to keep the child for harming another person, which to some is the best and right thing to do; but no parent can keep their children under lock and key 24/7 so what they are going to do when they have to go to school or other places of importance?
Some people think that that talking to the child and working out the child’s issues will set things straight and ensure that those types of acts will not happen again.
