Erectile dysfunction and diminished libido (sexual drive) are among the most common male sexual problems. Some of these may be classified as problems of sexual identity, sexual performance, or sexual aim. It should be noted that any of these problems could occur from time to time or be caused by temporary factors such as sickness, alcohol, or drugs.

The basic cause of a weak erection or lack of erection is poor blood circulation in the corpora cavernosa usually due to damage in the blood vessels or nerves. The damage may have been brought about by diabetes mellitus, neurological and vascular disease, or chronic alcoholism. Some medicines used to treat hypertension and depression may cause impotence. Other causes of male sexual dysfunction include hormonal imbalance, smoking, obesity, and psychological factors like anxiety, despair, stress, guilt and fear of not having an erection.

Sexual disorders also arise either through an excess of libido (sex drive) or diminished libido in a male or female. There can be conditions like lack of desire to have sex generally or the absence of desire in relation to the current partner. The following are some of the sexual disorders that occur in both men and women:

1. Hypoactive disorder for sexual desire (lack of sexual desire)
2. Infertility
3. Bestiality
4. Erectile disorder in male
5. Arousal disorder in female
6. Sexual aversion
7. Male impotence
8. Orgasmic disorder in women
9. Orgasmic disorder in men
10. Veganism
11. Sexual addiction

There are many causes for the dysfunction of sexual organs which includes the following:

There are many physical conditions which can be the cause of a sexual disorder. These conditions include heart disease, diabetes, liver or kidney disease, neurological problems, drug abuse, hormonal imbalance, etc. There are some medicines, such as anti-depressants, which can also give rise to sexual disorders.

Mental stress and work related tensions can also affect the sexual functioning in men. Other psychological causes include anxiety, tension, guilt and depression.

There are natural remedies available to treat some of these disorders some of which have been used since ancient times. Having survived to this day may be an indication of their effectiveness.
