Causes of Dark Circles under the Eyes
You may notice that someone you know has dark circles around their eyes. This may make them look like a raccoon. They might try to cover their dark circles up with makeup, but are not always successful in doing so.
These dark circles under the eyes are known as eye bags. They can be quite unsightly and can make the person who has them uncomfortable with their appearance. People with eye bags tend to look old and tired. It is not easy to get rid of eye bags or dark circles. You can try to cover them up with foundation but this does not eliminate the problem.
What causes dark circles or eye bags? They can be caused by many different physical and emotional illnesses. This article touches on some of the most common causes of eye bags and what can be done to treat them so that they go away and don’t come back.
There are many reasons why a person has eye bags or dark circles under their eyes. One of the most common causes of eye bags is lack of sufficient sleep. Insufficient sleep can cause skin to become pale which will enhance the dark circles under the eyes. Fatigue is a primary cause of eye bags.
Another reason why someone might develop eye bags is due to allergies. There are two kinds of allergies that can affect us. One type of allergy is known as food allergy.
The other kind is known as seasonal allergy. Both types of allergies can cause dark eye bags. A person with allergies may also experience puffiness around their eyes. This is predominately related to food allergies. Seasonal allergies can also cause puffiness around the eyes.
A third reason why someone might develop dark circles under their eyes is because their body does not have enough iron. People with low iron levels may suffer from a disorder known as anemia. Dark eye bags may also be the result of poor blood circulation. Also, people with low amounts of vitamin B12 and vitamin K may suffer from dark eye bags.
