Remember the hip hop princesses – Angel Simmons and Vanessa Simmons from MTV’s reality show Run’s House? Well, they have now opted for the sneaker game launching Pastry, their very own sneaker line. Cake, the pairs first collection comprises of four sneakers i.e. Strawberry Shortcake, Chocolate Mousse, Sprinkles and Red Velvet, each of which is designed to look like the cake it represents. The sweetness doesn’t end there, each shoe costing $65 also comes with a lip gloss that tastes and smells like its respective sneaker.
Related to Russel and Kimora Lee Simmons, who founded Phat Farm and Baby Phat, little wonder then, their nieces have produced fashion footwear. Their colourful, mid-priced athletic-inspired shoes come in multiple styles for young women who relish candy sweet sneaker shoes. Each shoe representing the sweet that gives it its name, pink and white Strawberry Shortcake is lined with red velvet inside and pink and ecru stripes on the outside.
The brainchild of Angela Simmons sophomoring at New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology, it was while baking a Pillsbury cake called Confetti, whose sprinkles burst inside the cake when baked that the Sprinkles sneaker concept hit her. These sweet candy sneakers may be for the ladies, but men who prefer the comfort of sneakers to shoes, also have their own range to choose from. In fact, the most expensive sneakers for men according to Forbes magazine is the Shoe-me-D-Money brand that carries sneaker designs by John Lobb to Prada, from Edward Green down to Ferragamo. At $1,830 a pair, bachelor’s can afford them so what’s the waiting for, shoe him what you got and he’ll show you the money!
Stars and celebrities can’t get enough of these casual sweet sneakers nor the Shoe-me-D-Money pairs, they are selling like hotcakes with another new line from the Simmons sisters in the pipeline!
