Caring for the Neck

neckcareIn the modern world, a frequent gyms in order to ensure that every muscle in our body is kept fit and fine. We perform various kinds of exercises for each muscle of our body.

How many of us work on the muscles of our neck? Have you ever realized that this muscle in our body is greatly ignored by us?

Before we jump into training these muscles, we need to understand the safety measures that we need to take to prevent injuring ourselves when we are working on these muscles. This is very important because the neck muscles play an important role in our body.

Firstly, ensure that you are able to perform the exercise with ease without any jerking motions. If at any point of time you feel you are jerking the muscles, then, you need to stop immediately. Next, ensure that you do not hurry to complete the exercise.

You have to maintain slow movements, both concentric and eccentric, thus ensuring that the muscle is being worked upon carefully. Now that we know how to ensure safety, let us see the kind of exercises we can do to exercise these muscles.

Barbell Shrugs: Have you ever seen the neck muscles of Vin Diesel in Fast and Furious Series? He has all the women drooling over his broad and huge neck. You can also develop these kinds of muscles between the shoulders and the neck by doing the barbell shrugs.

Neck Extension: This workout helps in getting a long and slender neck, which looks amazing. If you have seen the necks of Frieda Pinto and Aishwarya Rai you will know what I am talking about.

They have long, slender, and eye catching necks, thanks to this workout. Neck Extensions will work on the muscle called splenius at the back of the neck thus making it look elegant and impressive.

Neck Bridge: In this type of workout, you have to balance your body weight proportionally between the muscles of the neck and the feet. This workout will help you work on all the muscles that constitute the neck. While doing this exercise, it is very important to keep the safety measures we discussed in mind.
