Caring for combination skin

The other day my friend was complaining that she has a hard time finding the right beauty product for her skin, as it is oily and dry at the same time. Strange but true, there are people who face this problem. This type of skin is called combination skin. It is a mixture of both oily and dry skin. Those with combination skin have oily forehead and nose where as the rest of the face is fairly dry.

Combination skin needs special care. Since there are two different types together you have to be extra careful while using any beauty product. Make sure you do not harm the skin of another area while taking care of one particular area.

The first set of skin care is cleansing. Do not use a harsh cleanser that is specially made for oily skin or oil-based cleansers that are made for dry skin. Just use a mild moisturizing face wash. This will help to get rid of the excess oil on the skin, but at the same time, will not make the skin too dry or dehydrated.

After you are done cleansing, make sure you use a good exfoliator. This is necessary for any skin type. This will remove the dead cells and dirt that compile on the skin as well as help to get rid of the blackheads. A good exfoliator will help to get rid of the blackheads, but the best thing to use in this case are the black heads removing strips. For best result use the strips three times a week first then come down to once a week.

Last but not least is moisturizing, which is the really tricky part. During the day when you are out, it is better to use a moisturizer that will give your skin a matt effect and keep the oily areas less greasy and shiny. At night use an oil-free night cream. This will keep the dry areas moisturized and will not cause any harm to the oily areas.

Follow these simple tips and keep your skin fresh and clean and look beautiful all the time.
