Bruce Lee Broadway show is on the way

Stage musicals about the late martial arts genius Bruce Lee and former South African President Nelson Mandela are to be launched for the Broadway. Bruce Lee: Journey to the West, set for 2010 or 2011, will explore the story of the martial art champion’s rise to fame.
Meanwhile, a separate musical about South Africa’s struggle for freedom from a social policy is also planned for May 2010 that would be based in part on a forthcoming memoir by Mandela’s daughter Zindzi.
The entire thing will mix historical events with stories from Zindzi’s memoir about growing up in the apartheid era with her father being behind the bars.
The struggle against apartheid was also the subject of the year 1988 Broadway musical Sarafina! About the 1976 Soweto riots and this was made into a film starring Whoopi Goldberg in the year of 1992, whereas Bruce Lee musical includes martial arts, Chinese operas, modern dances and pop music as his character battles to master his skills and forge a link to unite East and West. However the actor for the same has not being decided.
