Botanical secrets for combination skin

Natural Woman

Like any other type of skin, combination skin also needs special care. To be more specific, this type of skin needs special care in particular skin zones. The common feature of combination skin is that it has oily nose and forehead, also known as the T-zone, and the rest of the facial skin is fairly dry or normal. Now, anyone with combination skin would want to get rid of the excess oil, but at the same time, not reduce the amount of moisture in the skin. There are some homemade remedies that will come in handy.

We start with the most basic thing, which is a facial mask. Go for a rose mask. It will help to balance the dryness and oily parts of the skin. To prepare this mask all you need is 2 tablespoons of rosewater, 1 tablespoon of yogurt (natural) and a tablespoon of honey. Heat the honey in a microwave for a few seconds.

Mix all of the ingredients together and make a paste. You can also add fresh petals of roses. Apply the mixture on your face and keep it on for 10 minutes. Rinse with cool water.

It is better to use a homemade scrub to clean the skin instead of using soap. You can use a special face wash that is made for you skin, but then again, nothing beats good old Mother Nature. Mix one egg with instant oatmeal (cooked) and a teaspoon of olive oil. Make a fine paste and apply the mixture on the skin. Keep it on for 15 minuets and then rinse with cool water.

Another good cleanser is milk. Soak a cotton ball in milk and rub it on your face, on the dry areas only. This will not only remove the dirt, but at the same time it will make your skin soft and smooth.

To maintain the oil balance of the skin, you can always apply any essential oil on the dry parts of the skin. You can use lavender oil, Tea-tree oil, etc.

Remember, whatever product you use, be sure that it is mild and not too harsh on your skin. Follow these tips and have healthy skin.
