The ancient Indian mother tongue was “Sanskrit”. The word yoga is a Sanskrit word which means “yuj” or “to yoke”. The real meaning of yoga is: practice of exercise in order to relax your body, your soul and boost energy in you. It is a process to unite the individual soul and universal soul through meditation and asceticism. Hence, it can be practiced for spiritual mastery, physiological mastery or even for both. The yoga is divided into four main branches as per the particular motive i.e. Bhakti Yoga (for devotion to a divinity), Janna Yoga (for intellectual knowledge and endeavor), Karma Yoga (for act in the world), and Raja Yoga (for meditation).
With these main branches, there are many sub-branches like Anuyoga, Anahata, Kriya, Hatha, Iyengar, Mahayoga, Pranava, Kripalu, Kundalini, Mahayoga and many more.
Due to the tremendous benefits of yoga, there are millions of people getting attracted to it. It is for this reason, yoga is becoming popular day by day. To feel free from materialistic and worldly desires people use to practice yoga.
Now, coming on to the practices of Yoga! In all there are there are eight limbs: Asana (postures); Dhyana (Meditation); Dharana (Concentration); Niyama (5 observances); Pratyahara (Abstraction); Pranamaya (Lengthening); Yama (5 abstentions) and Samadhi (Liberation).
There are several benefits of Yoga. Practicing yoga is a natural remedy that gives both tangible and non-tangible outcome. Its non- tangible results are relaxation, self-disciplined personality etc. When we talk about the tangible results, they are several useful results as well like wellness, fitness, health etc. With these benefits of yoga, there are number of other physiological, biochemical benefits as well.
Psychological benefits: Due to the hectic schedules, the life of people is full of stress. Hence, practicing yoga rejuvenate body, mind and soul. It provides complete relaxation of body and mind. With these reimbursements, it also gives lubrication to joints, organs massage, pain relief, stiffness in body parts, and regulation of blood pressure etc. In addition, it also controls insomnia, musculoskeletal flexibility, and increase in immunity and strength. Thus, it is really useful for the whole of the human body. The process of meditation with yoga harmonizes internal organs and body parts. The magic of self driving, energy and relaxation can be sensed from the day of starting. It is extremely difficult to enlist all physical benefits of yoga as the list is unending.
Practicing yoga also results in decreasing the depression and anxiety. It also leads to increase in concentration and somatic awareness.
Biochemical benefits: There are several biochemical benefits available as well, like it helps in increasing the hemoglobin, ATPas as well as vitamin C. Yoga also provides therapeutic nature technique for the peace of mind and guides mind to control body functionalities.
Hence, yoga is adopted in the world because of its simplicity and lots of benefits with no side effects.
