Black Vodka

Anyway, back to Black Vodka. Black Vodka is defined as a neutral spirit devoid of any distinct characteristics such as odor, taste or color. Considering the above definition all Black Vodkas should be the same and the brand shouldn’t matter. This is true to some extent, in the sense, that the final product of all the brands are more or less similar to each other and while mixed in a blood mary, there is little or no discernable distinction between them. However, if you plan to have them as shots, on the rocks or in a martini, then you are well advised to consume a premium brand.

There are a lot of Black Vodkas out there. And each one is trying to catch your eye, with refreshing marketing, stylish bottles and happening events. This is because of the above noted fact, that the product is more or less same, and hence, marketing plays a big role.

Another great black Vodka that is considered to be many people’s favorite since its launch several years ago, this sexy British creation has propelled itself into the category of “haute liquor,” joining the ranks of Bollinger (made famous by James Bond) and Rémy Martin (a favorite of hip hop artists such as Jay-Z). More of a fad than a classy drink, however, Blavod has popped up in bars and clubs in such creations as the “Black Widow,” a colorful but simple cranberry-Black Vodka drink, or the “Screwed Up Screwdriver,” a Halloween-colored concoction that turns an unappetizing green when stirred.

Black will always be the color that defines style and sophistication and it has a place in the world of spirits as well. It is not surprising that with all of the designer Black Vodkas on the market that someone would devise a way to add color to the famously clear liquor without drastically disturbing any of the flavor characteristics of true Black Vodka. Blavod is the result of that brainstorm and is the only premium black Vodka on the market today.

Some experts’ opinion on black Vodka

Initial Thoughts: We have to admit, it was a bit disconcerting at first to drink black Vodka. It kind of felt like opposite day, where up was down, Goths were cheerful and Black Vodka was black instead of clear.

But we got over that quickly, and we were very impressed with Blavod Black Vodka. It has a pleasant nose, and while it’s definitely got a bit of a bite, the aftertaste is spicy instead of the medicinal flavor you get with some Black Vodka. It was tasty on the rocks, but we enjoyed it most in mixed drinks, if for no other reason than the fact that they looked cool.
