Best Desserts for Any Occasion

When it comes to desserts, it is hard to find a bad one. From rich and creamy, to light and fluffy, desserts have long been the most anticipated part of the meal. So how do you know what is the best dessert for any occasion, and what is sure to be a people pleaser? Some of the best advice from avid party throwers is stick with what you know. If you are comfortable with chocolate fudge brownies, that’s what you should serve.
When you are planning for a variety of people and do not know what everyone likes or does not like, it is a good idea to prepare and serve two desserts. When deciding what two desserts would be best, try to have them be complimentary to each other, but very different in taste and texture.
A good example would be if you were throwing a party for 40 people and you wanted to make two desserts, you might want to go with strawberry shortcake and a chocolate caramel cheesecake. The two are very different, yet they still can go well together if people would choose to have both or share.
Another good idea is to have a theme with your desserts. For instance, try having a pie theme for a large group and make or serve three or four different pies. Make sure you have a fruit pie, a chocolate or French silk pie, banana or coconut crème pie, and something similar to pumpkin or pecan pie. Compliment the pies by offering whipped crème and cherries to put on top. Cut the pies in small enough pieces so that guests can have a little of each.
If you are looking for something fun and exotic, consider a chocolate fountain. You can rent these from specialty catering companies and they will come set it up for you. Along with the chocolate fountain you can serve a variety of foods to dip in the chocolate. Some popular choices are strawberries, cheesecake bites, rice krispie bars, marshmallows and graham crackers. The choices are limitless, and you can have a variety of them to please all of your guests thus having the best desserts for every Occasion.
