The advertisements in the media and cigarette puffing heroes in the movies further add fuel to the fire projecting macho images of the smokers. The adolescents are under constant peer pressure to take that first puff and then become part of the smoking club for ever. Higher the status, more refined the smoking becomes. One starts on cigarettes and experiments with cigars. The terrible hindsight is that nicotine addiction of smoking slowly overpowers weakening your will to quit smoking.
