A Wine tour of Italy

France is the name associated with wine making but she is not the sole owner of this craft. Her next door neighbor Italy has also been producing some quality wine. Take a tour of the Tre Venezie area of north eastern Italy and see what it has to offer in terms of wine.
Verona
When you arrive at Venice you have to resist other tempting tourist attractions and go straight to Verona where the world’s famous Bolla Wines are produced. They have more than a hundred years of experience in the craft. Their tasting room offers part of this experience you can’t afford to miss.
From there you can visit the Fabiano Wines which also has almost a century of experience in wine making behind them. They are located halfway between Verona and Lake Garda. You can check in at the Color Hotel at Bordolino. It will cost you $233 a night. You can wine and dine there without moving to any other place.
Trentino Alto Adige
This place holds the great wineries of Trento and Bolzano. Their wines are suited for Austrian and German pallets. These countries are not far away from here. This is a bilingual area, something you don’t expect to see in Italy. Here you can visit Cavit which is a unique cooperative of wineries of the area. You can have a taste here. You doubt the integrity of wine produced from different wine makers? Just get a taste and your doubts will dissipate totally. You can have your lunch here.
You can move on to Bozen to visit Tiefenbrunner Wines. You can have a taste of the light fruity Gewürztraminer which is a delicacy. Then there is Alois Lageder which produces from wineries. The finished product from these two contrasting wineries is just amazing.
Friuli Venezia Giulia
A visit to Genagricola will reveal their other side – fermentation of grapes. This is the home of Borgo Magredo which is fruity with a citrus flavor. You can drive to Fantinel which is a relatively new in the business. But their wines will make you think otherwise after you taste them.
