Arthritis

The inflammation in one or more joints is also called as arthritis. It can be of various types which can range from the wear and tear of the cartilage to those which are caused by the inflammation that occurs from an immune system that is overactive (known as rheumatoid arthritis).

The cause of arthiritis can be injury, metabolic abnormalities in the form of gout and pseudo gout, direct and indirect bacterial and viral infections, certain hereditary factors and a misdirected immune system that has autoimmunity.

This condition occurs when there is poor supply to a certain bone area which causes localized bone death. The condition is serious in nature as the dead areas of the bone have abnormal functionality and are also weak.

It can be caused by damage to blood vessels which suppy oxygen to the bones, trauma, atherosclerosis, abnormally thick blood and poor blood circulation to the bones.

Bursitis

The inflammation of the bursa or the tiny fluid filed sacs that form a gliding surface between the tissues of the body for reducing friction. Simple injuries can cause the bursa to get inflamed.

For example the shoulder bursa can get inflamed by lifting a bag of groceries while moving it to a car. 160 bursae are found in the human body. A bursa can get inflamed by infection, injury, or because of some underlying rheumatoid condition.

Elbow pain

The joint where three long bones meet in the middle portion of the arm is called an elbow. It functions for moving the arm in a hinge form (the forward and backward motion) and in rotation (twisting inward and outward).
