How to Treat Sweaty Palms

Sweaty palms are really a headache sometimes as the cause lots of problems. Your sweaty palms make problems when you write something or appear for a written test. The medical term of this occurrence is Palmar Hyperhidrosis. In some cases this palm sweating disease is so excessive that it can cause severe problems. There may be a number of reasons behind this Palmar Hyperhidrosis. It might be genetic in some cases and begin at a very early stage of life. The following discussion deals with some effective ways of treating sweaty palms. Check these tips out and get rid of the problem.

Tea can be a good antiperspirant and help you to deal with sweaty palms. Take a bowl of water and boil 4-5 tea bags in it. After boiling the tea bags keep it in a cool place and let it cool for some time. When it gets cooled, dip your hands or palms on the bowl of tea and keep them dipped for a few minutes. Soaking your hands in the tea water, would stop perspiration in the hands. Tea works as an astringent.

Also watch your diet. Yes! What you eat has something to do with your perspiration. Cut off the foods that are rich in iodine. Vegetables like onion, broccoli and asparagus should be avoided as they increase the rate of perspiration in your body.  You should also avoid eating livers, beef, turkey etc.

If you suffer from excessive hand sweating, you should always carry a hankie with you. Patting your palms dry will help you feel better. However, try to dip your hankie in a little alcohol and then carry it. Alcohol helps to shrinks the pores of your skin and thus reduces perspiration. But this is a temporary solution and not a long lasting one. This can be helpful while going for a party, where you will stay for 2-3 hours only.
