How to reduce pimples

pimples Appearance of pimples on the face is worrisome to many people.  We all like to have a healthy looking, spot free and glowing skin.  The existence of pimples hangs on our minds and makes us feel less confident or develops a low self image.  Help yourself to a few simple tricks and reduce those pimples.

Wash your face 3-4 times a day with plain water.  Do not wash excessively as it leads to loss of vitamins and minerals from the skin.  Use a mild cleanser only once or twice a day while washing your face.  You could also use mild anti pimple solutions available at drug stores.

Do not touch your facial skin frequently; or wash your hands thoroughly and keep them clean while touching.  Do not rub exfoliants on the face.  Do not expose it to direct sunlight and UV rays.  Use sunscreen products, but oil free ones.  Avoid wearing make up or wear very light make up.  Again use oil free products.

Avoid squeezing or bursting the pimples.  Do not press it constantly.  To avoid redness or swelling, apply ice cubes or ice pack on the face and leave it on for 20-30 minutes.

Eat carefully and be choosy.  Observe if the pimples are a reaction to consumption of certain foods.  Eat lots of fresh fruits, vegetables, greens, whole grains and food with high fibre content.

Avoid fatty, creamy, deep fried items, junk food and so on.  Reduce consumption of salty foods and products containing caffeine.  Drink plenty of fresh juice and water.  Water flushes out toxins, moisturises the skin and reduces pimples.

For cleansing pores of the skin, trying steaming once or twice a week, and rinse your face with cold water.  You could make a paste of oatmeal mixed with few drops of honey and leave it on your face for 15-20 minutes.  Oatmeal absorbs excessive oil and honey moisturises the skin.


Pimples are also caused due to stress.  So practice stress management techniques like meditation, yoga, deep breathing exercises and exercise regularly.
