Raising money for charity is not an easy task. It requires a lot of dedication to the cause. Social service is a tough terrain to tread on. We see charity dinners, events and concerts held now and then. This requires a lot of planning. If you want to raise money for a cause, then there are a lot of ways to go about it. Here’s how.
Install drop boxes at vantage points that will make people see the box. Put up a small board alongside the box, with the purpose statement. You could put the box alongside your local ATM, at a departmental store, at the park entrance or exit, next to the school bulletin board, at your company reception, at the sports club or gym, in the smoking area etc. You will start getting change at the end of each day. Collect all the change at the end of the week to give it to the charity.
This is a difficult way to raise money, but it gives a good corpus of money if it clicks. You will have to approach shops to ask them to auction some of their items. The items can be kept at a place with a box alongside. Interested people will write their name, address and buying price on a chit and drop it into the box. The highest bidder wins at the end of the day, and will be contacted.
Sell your craft
If you are skilled at craft, then you could make a product and sell it to friends and family. You can give the money from the sales to charity. You can also sell your handicrafts on eBay.
If you have old clothes and shoes, that are still worthy of wearing, but does not fit you or you are done with it, you could consider donating them to charity.
