Pizza is one dish that everyone loves. While you can easily dial a pizza restaurant and avail a home delivery service to get your pizza in no time, this routine sure does cost a lot of money. However, you can bake your own pizza at your house once you master the art of making pizza dough.
It is very easy to make, but need a bit of prior planning. As yeast is used to make pizza dough, you must allow some time for the kneaded dough to rise well before you can proceed to baking your pizza. Once the dough is made, it can also be frozen and used for a long time.
To make your own pizza crust at home, you will one 1 packet of dry yeast, half a cup of warm water, 3 tablespoons of olive oil, six cups of all-purpose flour, salt to taste. Add yeast in warm water, dissolve well. Add this to flour and mix thoroughly.
Now, slowly add warm water, kneading all the time to make soft and elastic dough with a smooth surface. Lightly apply oil on this kneaded dough. Keep aside in a warm place for 45 minutes to 2 hours. The dough should rise double its original volume.
Now, knead the dough again. Take about 30 gm of dough in your hands roll it into a small ball. Using a rolling pin roll it in a 6 inch crust. If you do not have a rolling pin, you can also use your hands to gently press the dough into a six-inch crust.
Make six such pizza crusts. Let these stay aside for 30 minutes to rise. After 30 minutes, apply olive oil on the crusts and set into the baking dish. Pre-heat the oven for 30minutes at 350 C or Gas mark 4. Bake for 20 minutes, or till the crust is golden brown.
