Ingredients for Gram Flour Paratha
In order to make gram flour paratha you need half cup of gram flour and half cup of wheat flour. Depending on the number of people in your family you can increase the amount of the flours, keeping the ratio 1:1. The other ingredients that you need are one and a half teaspoons of red chili powder, four pinches of asafetida, half teaspoon of cumin seeds, half teaspoon of turmeric powder, one finely chopped medium-sized onion, salt to taste, and one tablespoon of finely chopped coriander leaves. You also need some ghee for shallow frying.
Directions for Making Gram Flour Paratha
Combine all ingredients properly in a bowl. Don’t add the ghee. Mix warm water and knead well to make soft dough. You can also cover the dough using a muslin cloth. Leave it aside for about 15 minutes. Next, you have to make small balls out of the dough. With a rolling pill, roll the balls into little circles.
Smear some ghee in the center of all the circles and then fold the sides. Now roll each one to make a bigger circle. Heat a griddle and place one paratha on it. When one side is cooked, flip it over to the other side. Add some ghee. When both the sides get cooked, serve the paratha hot with pickle, curd, or any spicy dip.
