How to make deep fried chicken-balls

mcba If you have invited a large number of guests for a party, it is likely that you may be in a dilemma with regards to planning out the dinner menu. For a party, perhaps the most important items are the starters. As far as the starter-item is concerned, rest assured.

Here’s a perfect recipe to make mouth-watering starters. The minced-chicken balls are basically kebabs, famous in India, Pakistan and neighboring regions. Kebabs are made by deep frying a basic filling of minced chicken or meat. Depending on the type of herbs and spices used, each different kebab recipe gets its distinct, delicious taste.

These chicken-balls are as easy to make as they are delicious. Here’s how you can make it.

Take one kilo of boneless chicken. Wash well and cut into small pieces. Completely pat dry, and if required, refrigerate for 10 minutes. Cut two medium sized onions, slices of eight garlic cloves. In a mixer, grind half the quantity of chicken to a fine paste.

Remove in a vessel and grind the remaining half. Now, grind the entire quantity of this minced chicken with onions and garlic. You may add 50 gm coriander leaves also. Add salt and pepper corns to taste.

Now, keep this minced chicken in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes. Make small balls of the minced chicken and deep fry. Sieve the excess oil and remove on a tray lined with tissue papers to soak the extra oil. Serve hot.

They taste excellent when served with freshly-made coconut-coriander chutney. To make this chutney, grind 100 gm of fresh coriander leaves with 50 gm of fresh coconut, a whole green chilly and juice of half a lemon. Add salt and sugar to taste. Instead of lemon juice, you can even use a tablespoon of hung curd to make the coconut chutney. You can even serve these starters with a dip of ketchup.
