Ujjain is located on the Shipra River banks in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. It was previously called Ujjayini.

The presiding deity in the temple is Chintaharan Ganesh. It was constructed across the Shipra River.

These caves are located close to the Gadkalika temple and above the Shipra River bank. Vikramaditya’s step brother ‘Bhartrihari’ had meditated at this place. He was a great poet and scholar. Some of his incredible works include Vairagyashatak, Shringarshatak and Nitishatak.

It was destroyed during the era of Pindaris. Madhav Rao Scindia had restored its glory in the year 1920. The family also restored the Sun temple.
It occupies important place in the sacred spots of Ujjain. The dark vermilion colored idol of Annapurna is kept in between the idols of Mahasaraswati and Mahalaxmi. You can also find Sri Yantra in the temple. It is believed that the elbow from the burning body of Sati fell at this spot when Lord Shiva carried her body from the sacrificial fire.
Bayajibai Shinde had built this large temple in the 19th century. You can find beautiful Maratha architecture at this temple. Its doors are covered with silver.
The presiding deity in this temple is Lord Shiva. The Shikhara of this temple is soaring into the sky.
It is believed that Sudama and Lord Krishna received instructions from Guru Sandipani at this Ashram.

The nearest airport is situated at Indore. You can catch domestic flights to Gwalior, Mumbai, Bhopal and Delhi from Indore.
Ujjain railway station is situated on the Nagada-Bhopal sector.
You can find regular buses to Ratlam, Mandu, Indore, Dhar and Bhopal.
