How to bake a batch of mini-loaves

blo While getting yourself a loaf of bread from across the bakery is just a matter of minutes, there is nothing like the joy of baking your own bread.

As opposed to the idea that it is a tedious task, it is indeed simple. A batch of hot, soft and fluffy mini-loaves can be baked in just a matter of one hour.

To make mini-loaves is a very easy job. All you need is patience and some basic ingredients. You will need 3 cups of all purpose flour, 1 packet of rapid-rise yeast, half cup of milk, 3/4 cup of water, 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar, 2 eggs.

Beat the eggs well till very fluffy and light. Warm the milk, add butter to it and switch off the gas once the butter melts.

In a large bowl, mix all the dry ingredients (i.e. flour, yeast, sugar) Mix these dry ingredients well. Now, add milk, water to the flour. Also add the beaten eggs. Knead into fine dough.

Punch the dough well 3-4 times; knead it all over for 5 minutes. Cover this dough with a wet cloth and keep it in a warm corner. Do not disturb the vessel now and let the dough rise.

When the dough has risen to double its original volume, divide into twelve parts. Keep them about three inches away on a greased baking dish that is about5 inches by 8 inches. It should be shallow enough and must be greased well, all over the bottom and the sides using butter generously.

Cover the baking dish again with a wet cloth and let the dough rise again. Once the dough has risen (this time, give about half an hour’s time for the dough to rise), bake in a preheated oven for 20 minutes. The loaves should be soft and fluffy and appear golden in color.
