How To Apply Liquid Foundation

found A foundation can make or break your look. While the right foundation can make your complexion perfect, a mismatched or ill-blended foundation can leave makeup lines all over your face. While choosing foundation, most women prefer liquid foundation as it gives a ‘natural look’ makeup that is perfect for daily purposes as well. It is easy to apply liquid foundation provided you know how to apply it perfectly. Here are some simple tips to help you do just that.

Firstly, you need to choose a liquid foundation makeup that matches your skin tone perfectly. A good practice while buying a foundation is to test the color on your jaw line rather than on your finger or wrist. If possible, try to see the foundation in day light before buying it. Go for the lightest consistency of liquid foundation your skin will allow.

Step 1: You’ll need a liquid foundation, a damp sponge and you might also need a concealer if you have problem areas on your face.

Step 2: Prepare your skin for makeup by cleansing, toning and moisturizing the face. If you plan to go out in daylight, use a moisturizer with sunscreen base.

Step 3: It is always better to apply foundation on face with a damp sponge rather than directly with your fingertips. This way, the foundation blends well, and there’s less chance of makeup lines being visible. Don’t use a dry sponge as it will absorb a lot of foundation, thus wasting it.

Step 4: Place some foundation on your hand and pick up a little of it with the sponge. Apply the foundation onto face, starting from center and moving outwards. Blend the foundation upwards and not downwards. Make sure that the foundation is blended evenly.

Step 5: Make sure the foundation is blended carefully around your jaw line and hairline, because these are the easiest areas to see the line of makeup.

Step 6: Watch out for foundation gatherings, if any, on the hairline, around the mouth and eyebrow. Smooth away such accumulations with sponge.

Step 7: Apply concealer to hide blemish areas on your face.

Step 8: Set the liquid  foundation with a transluscent powder which will help the makeup stay longer.
