Gastritis

gastritis is a painful disease in which a person feels intense (or mild) inflammation, redness in the stomach. gastritis, or Urdhavaga amlapitta as per in ayurveda, is of two types; it can be mild or can be severe. The patient suffering from gastritis feels uneasy, uncomfortable in doing his work, extremely weak. It can affect person of all age group. Today, junk food has made wider place in the life of a common man as he is very much dependent on it. This very junk food is the cause of gastritis and other stomach-related problem. This article will explain in detail what all effective home remedies can be used for the treatment gastritis, and what all can be done to stay away from this disease.

Gastritis Causes

The main cause of gastritis is unhealthy food, which include junk foods, food cooked in adulterated oil and in unhygienic condition. Other causes of gastritis are excess consumption of caffeine, alcohol. Stress, depression, sorrow, pain, side effects of some drugs, etc., are some other reasons.

Gastritis Diet

Unhealthy food habit, lack of nutritional food is the major cause of gastritis. Patient suffering from gastritis should keep fast for 3-4 days. He may be given warm water during these days. The main idea behind keeping him abstain from food is the inflammation in the stomach will decrease as all the toxic material inside the stomach will diminish.

Patient can also be given juicy fruits like grapes, apples, oranges, water melons, etc., 2-3 times a day. Patient should survive on these juicy fruits only, at least for 2-3 days. This fruit-diet gives fast relief and detoxifies the stomach. Patient should realize very well that unhealthy food habit, excess intake of alcohol and other drugs are the main cause of gastritis, and they should not forget this.

Once patient start showing improvement, he can be given balanced gastritis diet containing cereals, grams, green leafy vegetable, juicy fruits, etc.

Exercises and walk:

Exercise is the best remedy for all the diseases. Breathing exercises are recommended as effective home remedy for the patients suffering from the gastritis. Brisk walking, slow jogging are other recommended activities that a gastritis patient can do.

Curd:

Curd is also recommended as one of the best home remedy for the treatment of gastritis.

Prevention is better than cure. Patient suffering from gastritis should develop healthy food habits, start doing exercises, and say no to alcohol.

Gastritis Symptoms

The major gastritis symptoms are pain in stomach and head, weakness, vomiting, lethargy, unwillingness to eat, problem in urine, depression, heaviness in abdomen, pyrosis. Some patients may also experience constipation and diarrhea. Patient suffering from gastritis experiences sour tongue, thick coat of sticky material over the tongue, bad smell from mouth, etc.

Home Remedies for Gastritis - Gastritis Treatment

Patient suffering from gastritis feel uneasy, depress, extreme weakness, etc. gastritis patient need proper care and attention. There are many useful and effective home remedies for gastritis.

Rice:

Rice gruel is one of the easiest and best home remedy for gastritis. Patient can take 1-2 bowl of it 2 times a day. If the gastritis is severe, this gruel can be taken in larger quantity. Rice gruel plays important role in formation of gastric juice.

Potato:

Juice extracted from raw potato has lots of medicinal property. It has a magical effect for treating gastritis. This juice should be taken before each meal (that is 3 times a day) in a quantity of a 1/2 cup each time. This is one of the best home remedies for gastritis.

Marigold:

This herb is recommended as an effective home remedy, and has been used so from very ancient time. This gives fast relief to gastritis patient. Take 1-2 tablespoon of this herb or its extract 2-3 times a day. Other herbs used for the treatment of gastritis are meadowsweet, chamomile, etc.

Madhu (Honey):

Honey is also considered as an effective home remedy for the patient suffering from gastritis. Honey has been used as home remedy for gastritis since ancient times. This is one of the useful home remedies for gastritis.

Nariyal (Coconut):

Coconut water is considered as one of the best health drink. It keeps the body temperature cool, helps in digestion, is rich in minerals and vitamins, clear toxic materials stored inside the stomach. A gastritis patient should take this very healthy drink 4-5 times a day. This will give quick relief from pain.

Adrak (Ginger):

Chew 2-3 small pieces of ginger seeds with salt. This will give fast relief from the uneasiness caused due to gastritis. It will keep the stomach healthy and relaxed. This is one of the important home remedies for gastritis.

Ajwain:

Patient should also take ajwain for the treatment gastritis.

Water:

Patient suffering from gastritis should drink plenty of water. Normal recommended amount is 8-9 glasses of water. Water will relax the stomach; clear all the toxic material inside it. It keeps the body temperature cool and normal.
