Rustic light switch plates compliment rustic interiors, outdoors, gardens and picket fence perfectly. It is quite easy to make and even older children can help in painting and sticking the Popsicle sticks, if the light switches are not already installed. To attach a light switch to a fence, drill holes in the fence for screws of the switch plate and stick it on the fence with glue.

Instructions to make Rustic Light Switch Plate
Step 1: Start by gluing popsicle sticks to the switch plate in such a manner that a part of it juts out on the upper edge of the switch plate.
Step 2: Cut the sticks that cover the area above and below the switch holes in such a way that their upper end is at same level as the first or second stick (jutting out), and part of the rest of the stick is glued to the bottom of the switch hole.
Step 3: Again, attach a few popsicle sticks at the end of the switch plate to give it a balanced look.
Step 4: Use a scissor to trim the upper edges of the sticks, which are jutting out, to resemble a garden fence.
Step 5: Paint these popsicle sticks to resemble a garden fence in white, green or golden brown colours.
Step 6: Glue the wooden or silk flowers to the switch board and paint vines around them.
Step 7: Once the paint dries completely, apply a coat of clear enamel to it, for preservation purposes.
