Here are some homemade gift ideas that you can try:

Food Basket

Bake some banana bread or cookies at home and together with some fresh fruits and canned juices make a tasty food basket for your friends.

Brownie or Cookie Jars

Take a mason jar and layer it with dry ingredients to make cookies or brownies. Decorate the jar with ribbon and attach a recipe card with it that contains instructions to use the ingredients.

Grandparent’s Calendar

Use a computer program to print calendar months and dates on 8 1\2 x 11 cardstock. Decorate the blank backsides of the cardstock with your kid’s artwork or family photos, clip art, poems etc. Get the lamination and the binding done from a local photocopy shop.

Homemade Spa Set

Help stressed out relatives and friends get some relaxation with personal care products. Fill small jars with the mixtures given below and decorate them with ribbons.

Bath salts: Mix 1 c. Epsom salt, 1 c. rock salt, 20 drops of fragrance oil and some food coloring.

Bubble Bath: Combine 3 c. clear, mild liquid dish washing detergent, oil from 6-8 Vitamin E capsules, 1\4 c. glycerin, 25-30 drops of fragrance oil, food coloring and dried orange peel.

Bath Oil: Blend together 1\2 c. almond oil, 1\2c. castor oil or aloe vera, oil from 6-8 Vitamin E capsules, dried flowers and 25-30 drops of fragrance oil.

You can also print little tags for these bottles from the computer. Put these in a basket along with some store-bought items like lotions, loofah, pumice stone, wash cloth etc.

Scented Jelly Jars

All you need is 8 oz. of liquid potpourri, 2 envelopes of Knox gelatin and a bowl or a unique bottle as a container. Boil the liquid, add the gelatin, little food coloring and stir until it gets dissolved. Pour it into the container and allow it to cool.
